A celebration and party to have fun, educate, and raise money and awareness for the World Rainforest Fund, a tax-deductible non-profit organization working to save rainforest by empowering indigenous people, is happening Thursday, July 21, 6:00 to 9:00 PM, at the Vin Club, 515 Broadway, at Kearny, across the street from Enrico's Restaurant, North Beach, San Francisco. Finger food will be provided for free. Speakers will be David Seaborg, leading evolutionary biologist and environmental leader, and President of the World Rainforest Fund; Surabi Menon, who shared the Nobel Peace Prize with Al Gore as a scientist working on the United Nations Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change; and a representative from International Rivers, a non-profit working to stop destructive megadams in rainforests. Talks will be five minutes each, as the emphasis will be on socializing and meeting people. You will have an opportunity to meet and speak with the speakers. In addition, there will be many well-known and interesting people there. This event is wheelchair accessible.

Tickets have the suggested price of $42.00, but no one is turned away due to lack of funds. You can pay any price, down to as low as $8.00, if money is an issue.
